Part 1        July 9, 2015    What is Attitudinal Healing?

Description:   This course is an introduction to Attitudinal Healing, an award winning psycho-social approach to health and wellbeing introduced by Dr. Jerry Jampolsky in 1975.  Attitudinal Healing is based on the understanding that it is possible to experience peace of mind even when facing life’s most difficult circumstances. By consciously choosing our thoughts, feelings and attitudes, we can learn to alleviate stress and regain a sense of wellbeing. This first session provides an overview of the 4-part course and a brief history of Attitudinal Healing.  The session introduces the Attitudinal Healing Principles and Support Group Guidelines and offers participants an opportunity to explore their application through interactive exercises and discussion.

Part 2        July 16, 2015    Essential Nature, Authentic Presence & Empathic Listening

Description:  This session introduces three Attitudinal Healing core concepts: Essential Nature, Authentic Presence and Empathic Listening.  Although the true essence of human nature is beyond description, we can experience and express it through conscious choice.  Attitudinal Healing calls this essence Love.  Listening with empathy means listening with the intent to recognize the essence of another, and to understand the other from his/her own frame of reference.  It is seeking first to understand, and only then to be understood. In this session participants explore ways to experience and express essential nature while they learn and practice empathic listening, reflective statements and validation skills.

Part 3        July 23, 2015        Seeing Things Differently: The Power of Choice

Description:  This session explores the Attitudinal Healing core concept of Choice. Attitudinal Healing proposes that every choice we make is fundamentally a choice between inner peace or conflict….love or fear.  These choices determine how we experience every aspect of our lives … our health & wellbeing as well as our relationships. Often, it appears that we are making choices about countless other things and making decisions becomes complex and difficult.  When we can perceive each decision as a choice between peace or conflict/love or fear, the decision-making process is simplified and clarified. In this session, participants are invited to deepen their awareness of the moment by moment choices in their lives, to investigate the choices that lead to inner peace and those that lead to inner conflict and to identify the Attitudinal Healing Principles that can support a positive change in perspective.

Part 4        July 30,2015    Forgiveness as a Life Skill

Description:  In this final session of the webinar series, participants investigate the core concept of Forgiveness as a practical tool for reclaiming peace of mind.  Forgiveness is not about another person; rather it is a change of perspective that reduces our own suffering.   Through interactive exercises and group discussion, participants explore the meaning of forgiveness, common resistances to forgiveness, and practical steps that can lead to Forgiveness and inner peace.
