On February 12, 2022, on the 97th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Jerry, the founder of Attitudinal Healing, Emily Liu, the Director of Attitudinal Healing China, launched a large-scale live broadcast in honor of Dr. Jerry. The number of participants in this broadcast exceeded 4,000, creating the largest number of participants since the broadcast began.
In this live broadcast, Elsa and James who introduced Attitudinal Healing to China, the current board members, Fu Ping, Larisa Sun, Lilly Li, Xu Hui and the former board members Lu Yuanyuan, Grace Zhang, Liu Xiang, the voice of Attitudinal Healing China Ruby Chen and the head of the Attitudinal Healing publicity team Zhu Dan have been invited to give a talk on “Dr. Jerry in my eyes”.
Emily shared the challenges that Dr. Jerry encountered when he did his first support group before he started Attitudinal Healing. the group members went from thinking they were not suited to group therapy to then constantly finding Jerry for help. The group member came to the group because he knew Jerry always cared about them. Jerry said the inspiration it brought him was that if someone could share their life, especially some specific events and challenges that are happening in their own life, his only job is to show love, and he doesn’t know how love is received, and when it is received, it somehow takes the pressure off each other, but he doesn’t need to evaluate what he was doing. He just needs to show empathy, listening and love.
Emily also shared that when Jerry was asked what he had accomplished most in his life when he was seriously ill, his answer was that he married Diane, and he wholeheartedly demonstrated to us love, compassion, tolerance, acceptance, permission, and that the best way to help yourself is to serve others!
Elsa shared: Dr. Jerry ever mentioned, “Attitudinal Healing doesn’t need to be a massive commercial campaign, the growth of the organization comes from our inner growth, and those who need us will find us from their hearts. She shared the simple and loving life of Jerry and Diana when she lived in their home.
James shared: Jerry cares more about you as a person rather than what you did, just like what we often say, ” All encounters are long-awaited reunions”. He is not showing love, he is love. When I asked, “How do you strike a balance between helping yourself and helping others,” Dr. Jerry replied, “The process of helping others is helping yourself, and his answer really made me feel that true inner peace is the greatest contribution to the world.
Ping Fu recalls that she saw a sign on Jerry’s chest at the Attitudinal Healing America 40th Anniversary Conference with the message that “attitude adjustment while you wait”. She felt very touching and inspiring. Jerry demonstrated AH principles at every moment, showing Now is the only time there is and each instant is for giving. When Ping Fu asked, “How to balance busy work with helping others,” Dr. Jerry then helped Ping Fu connect with a famous author who wrote the book “Finding your right work “ which let Ping Fu feel unconditionally loved and supported. She also shared when Jerry told Diane on his deathbed “ I am still learning “, he demonstrated lifelong learning to the world !
Larisa Sun shared, every time I think of Dr. Jerry, it gives me a special warm feeling. I remember when I attended 40th anniversary in U.S, the delegates from all over the world met with each other, Dr. Jerry was so busy and he came to greet our China delegates, which made me feel very warm.
Lilly Shared: Jerry said his greatest accomplishment was maraging Diana, who shared the principle that we are each other’s students and teachers in the international Attitudinal Healing online facilitator training recently. Diana recalled that when Jerry faced the challenge of death, he remembered his six children with cancer, who were his teachers. This was really touched her.
Xu Hui shared: Although I have never met Dr. Jerry, I am especially grateful to Dr. Jerry for creating Attitudinal Healing, which has made me who I am today and changed my family significantly.
Liu Xiang shared: Although I have never met Jerry, when I think of the unconditional love that Trish, Carolyn and Joe gave me, I feel grateful to Dr. Jerry, and I feel a connection with Dr. Jerry through time and space.
Erica Lu said: Although I have never had direct contact with Dr. Jerry, every workshop Dr. Jerry and Diana would send us a video of their blessings and they gave us a happy feeling in the video. Every time I think of Dr. Jerry, I will be connected to the love.
Grace Zhang shared: Although I have never had direct contact with Dr. Jerry, I know deep inside that I can feel the connection with Dr. Jerry in my soul when I translate attitudinal materials, during group activities, during sharing sessions, and during workshops. I am very grateful.
Ruby Qiu shared: I was deeply healed when I was translating a quote from video made by his son Lee, who said, “Only when we fully embrace our humanity is it possible to connect to our divinity”.
Zhu Dan shared: Although I have never met Dr. Jerry in person, when I think of him I think of a little story. Once he was invited to see a prisoner in prison who was manic and aggressive, and Dr. Jerry said to him at the door, “Actually I am as scared as you are. This story reminded me that we can look through the surface to see his true nature, that we are either seeking for love or giving love.
Grateful to Dr. Jerry for generating Attitudinal Healing for the world, and grateful to Dr. Jerry for making the world feel unconditional love!
