Congratulations to the Co-Founders of AHI, Gerald Jampolsky, M.D. and Diane Cirincione-Jampolsky, Ph.D., on their individual selections as recipients of the 2015 Ellis Island Medals of Honor in New York City on May 9th. The award is given to those who "live a life dedicated to helping others; preserve and celebrate the history, traditions and values of their ancestry group while proving themselves valuable citizens of the United States; strive for tolerance and acceptance between ethnic, racial and religious groups; and, share their personal and/or professional gifts for the benefit of humanity.”

AH and Recovery in Pakistan

Ten years ago a mentor friend brought Attitudinal Healing and other western models of healing to a young medical doctor, Tallat Abid, in Islamabad. Dr. Abid began to use the Principles of AH in his own life and, finding it life changing, founded Nishan, an Attitudinal Healing Facility in Islamabad specializing in Addictions and Recovery. The 90 day inpatient program is designed around the Principles and the AH Peer Support Group Model.

The entire professional staff uses AH in their work as well as personal lives and serve as a positive demonstration model. Participants are often trained to become Facilitators for both inpatient and outpatient support groups as part of their ongoing healing.

Students Learning to Lead

Ngwa Marceline, 18 year old Youth Facilitator

The Cameroon Center for Attitudinal Healing successfully led another group of 14-18 year olds through the Power to Choose program in Doula at the Government Bilingual High School Deido. Several participants from the group last year were part of the Facilitator Training held last summer. The training provided the students with an introduction to facilitation so they could return the following year and serve as Youth Facilitators. One participant, Kunchuh Augustina shared, “This program has given me the tools to tackle all my worries and problems. It has helped me to develop a leadership spirit of always wanting to bring solutions, not problems to people issues. It has also encouraged me to better make good and favorable decisions or choices. In fact, the Power to Choose program has helped me in uncountable ways."

Rapid Expansion in China

Attitudinal Healing continues to grow in China with three major trainings planned in 2015. The first was completed recently in Beijing by International Trainer, Joe Keery. Participants included people from all walks of life, professions, and levels of experience. The universality of the Principals continues to apply to diverse circumstances and challenges regardless of faith and culture. Centers Connect

While all Centers for Attitudinal Healing are independent and autonomous, they are also strongly interconnected. Over the years, exchange of ideas and mutual inspiration has been vital to the health of individual Centers and essential to the long-term sustainability of Attitudinal Healing. The Center Connect meeting just held in March had representatives from 17 countries. This included China, South Africa, France, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Canada, Israel, The Netherlands, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Mexico, Argentina, Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya, and many U.S. cities.

The recent Regional Networking meeting, held in February, was attended by AH representatives from nine African Countries, reflecting the increasing interest in Attitudinal Healing in Africa. In addition to ongoing activities in Ghana, Cameroon, The Gambia, Nigeria and South Africa, there is new enthusiasm for introducing Attitudinal Healing in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali and Rwanda. As a result of the initial gathering, participants are conversing about online AH support groups, an African AH newsletter focusing on personal experiences of the Attitudinal Healing Principles and an Attitudinal Healing Conference and Facilitator Training in Africa. Other online Regional gatherings are scheduled in April (US & Canada), May (Spanish Speaking Countries), July (Europe) and October (Asia).
