It is fascinating to experience how the Principles of Attitudinal Healing have been accepted in culturally diverse countries around the world. While the same Principles of Attitudinal Healing and Guidelines for Attitudinal Healing Peer Support Groups are used, each Center or Group has adapted the use of Attitudinal Healing in culturally appropriate ways relevant to each locations needs.
Since the first Center was founded in 1975, the growth of Attitudinal Healing continues to be organic in nature.
This is based purely on the inspired enthusiasm of individuals to heal themselves as well as offer Attitudinal Healing groups and programs based on the needs of their communities' desire to heal. There never was, nor is there today, a ‘five year plan’ established to expand this work. Rather, it expands and unfolds upon itself, just like love.
It continues to be most exciting and inspirational to see the local adaptation of this life changing work evolve and grow. INNOVATIONS features stellar examples of some of these adaptations. This column will highlight and explore the innovative ways to incorporate the universally accepted Principles of Attitudinal Healing into the daily lives of individuals, families, groups, schools, business, mental health, government, and other community centers and organizations.
We encourage new ideas and implementations to be submitted to AHI for possible inclusion. The purpose of highlighting different programs is to honor and support the work that has been and continues to be done; and, to inspire others to mentor, collaborate, and/or adapt featured programs for their own community.
