Mission

Attitudinal Healing International’s mission is to create, develop, and support the official home portal for Attitudinal Healing and to help facilitate the organic creation and growth of independent centers, groups, and individuals worldwide.

Vision

Attitudinal Healing International supports and works toward a world where each person takes responsibility for what they think, say, and do, utilizing the Principles of Attitudinal Healing and the practices of choosing peace over conflict, love over fear, compassion over indifference, and forgiveness over judgmental blame in all aspects of daily life. AHI envisions a world where everyone is whole, safe, loved, educated and valued; a space where people can join each other to stimulate their own creativity of experiencing the Light that is within each of us so that the darkness and warring of this world can disappear.

Purpose Attitudinal Healing International’s purpose is to support each person’s ability to heal their own mind of fear and separation that they may experience a world of connectedness, love, peace, and mutual respect for our differences and celebration of our commonality.

It is to have a Website that attracts like-minded and heart-minded people who believe that there is another way of looking at the world and that nothing is impossible. It is to create a platform where people can inspire themselves and each other to live in a higher consciousness of unconditional love and forgiveness, a consciousness of “giving” rather than “getting” and being a “love finder” rather than a “fault finder.” The Approach To Service

Peer Support --
The Centers utilize a peer support approach.  This means we rely on the extraordinary strength of ordinary people to help one another.  We utilized support groups and peer counseling to deliver direct services to our clients.  Volunteers are trained in what we call Attitudinal Healing Peer Support and undergo many hours of training, screening and mentoring.
Specific guidelines serve to build psychological safety in this non-confrontational process. The guidelines provide the approach to self-exploration in a very dynamic learning process.

The Support Group --
There is a synergy at work in our support groups. One person's breakthrough can lead to breakthrough for others. The peace of mind attained by one who is further down the path can be the model for others, giving them hope and sparking their resolve to heal their fear. As the group develops and progresses, participants experience a deep sense of connection with each other. Out of their own giving and receiving, they grow together to become a powerful source of support.

Attitudinal Healing - A Practical Spirituality

aboutBdy_sunlight2"Attitudinal Healing is based on the principle that it is not other people or situations that cause us distress.  Rather, it is our own thoughts and attitudes that are responsible for our distress, and the actions we take as a result of those thoughts and attitudes can hurt us.  Healing results when we concentrate on changing our own attitudes rather than trying to change the attitudes of others.  Thus, the goal of Attitudinal Healing is self-healing in the face of each life challenge.  Attitudinal Healing is not a religion, nor is it religious.  People from many cultures, faiths, and denominations, as well as those who follow no faith at all are welcome to participate." - from Love Is Letting Go Of Fear by Gerald Jampolsky, M.D., 2005 edition.

Attitudinal Healing is not just adjusting or adapting our attitudes; rather, it is consciously choosing to let go of our fearful attitudes.  The goal is not to change behavior, but to retrain the most powerful instrument of change we possess, our own mind.  Our approach is based on 12 principles, which are offered as suggestions or an invitation, not as rules.  These principles introduce the dynamic of choice, and acknowledge our own inner wisdom.  It is up to us to choose whether we wish to move through the fear, conflict or separation we are feeling and experience peace of mind.

Attitudinal Healing is highly regarded by the academic and professional community as an effective therapeutic approach for individuals, groups, and organizations.  It is referred to as a  "Psycho-Social-Spiritual Approach”  within the field of psychology.  We define it as spiritual because we refer to ourselves as larger than our bodies in terms of a compassionate nature that is inherent in all of us.  It is neither religious nor dogmatic, and it does not conflict with any spiritual or religious orientation, but instead oftentimes enhances them.
